Mr Prata on Evans Road

Spice in the Botanical Gardens near Nassim Road

Arrived early 530 am in Singapore for a professional accountability and conduct seminar.

Where to eat after an all night flight on the plane to Singapore?

Need some hunger busting food.

My old friend KK told me about Indian breakfast in a hideaway amongst the green shrubbery.

We had Thosai Masala. This was hearty and tasty. In the cutaway we can see the  Thosai was filled with fragrant spiced potatoes.

Other Mr Prata Specials at 26 Evans Road, Singapore 259367, Tel 6336979

On the way out at 5pm today maybe stop at the Changi Terminal 2 gym to try and work off some of the delicious breakfast. The front wall is clear glass and overlooks the Changi Terminal Concourse. What a view and maybe a time saving workout.

Behind the machines you can see the hustle and bustle of the Changi Airport.

Qantas Club Perth Domestic Terminal Nov 1

The travel centre for the mining boom.

Many mining executives in suites and operational staff in fluorescent jacket enjoying cups of made to order java from the barista. What a great way to begin a flight to work around or outside the State.

Many FIFO (fly in fly out) workers enjoying the facilities before going to work.

Had to get off the morning QF 654 flight to Sydney due to toilet trouble on the plane.

While waiting for QF654 the afternoon flight to Sydney required spot of lunch. It was Aerodrome cafe or Qantas Club.

Lunch on  Thursday in Q club Perth - honey ham, roast beef and aubergines with crackers. Light and healthy?

An Irish favourite? Calcannon Pie with mashed potato. A welcome meal if you have swum 1.7km in the pool in preparation for a 1/2 triathlon. Either in Albany or Busselton. The swim leg is 1.9 km so potatoes and mince is an option for non vegans.

Capsicum soup with beans.Spicy, light and healthy!

More Calcannon pie with mash and salad. Just can't satisfy your hunger from the swim? Maybe should have had quinoa for breakfast. A South American staple grown by the Incas with 14% protein content. By now most of the FIFO guys have left.

Time to get the flight to Sydney. Might have to start with a snooze.

Check out the 1/2 triathlon sites in WA.

1. Albany http://www.albanyhalf.com.au/ this is sponsored by Trek & you might even win a bicycle.

2. Busselton  http://www.busseltonhalf.com/ and there are no more individual entries left only teams. Very popular. Might see you there.

Hilltop Phoenix in Castlehill NSW

Suburban Yam char!

After a meeting in the CBD hop into the car for 60 min drive down the tolled freeways of Sydney to Castlehill. This restaurant sits on the mezzanine of the shopping mall.

Hot tea and steaming Asian Tapas here. The traditional favourites (clockwise): chili braised phoenix claws, prawn dumplings, sweet roast pork dumplings, meat & prawn dumplings. We did the morning power walk from the hotel to the Sydney Harbour Bridge so we are covered for the caloric load.

Add some blanched garden greens with pork ribs. Drink some tea to wash down the animal fat.

The chlorophyll laden garden veges with oyster sauce. Have to get some of this for the fibre content to balance the protein.
More yamcha. Rice rolls with roast pork. This is great with lots of little bits of shredded meat.

That is alot of food for a working day lunch. Now for the drive back to the airport and flight back home. But some rice prawn rolls before we leave - "ha cheong fan" - Awesome !

Hilltop Phoenix on Urbanspoon

We drive back over the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Check out the toll here http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/myrta/e-toll/

BBQ King Restaurant Sydney

Good fast food near the Hilton Sydney.

After arriving late on the Qantas flight. Looking for supper near midnight on a week night.

A plate of tantalising prawn rice noodles with egg sauce. Plan to go to the Gym in the Hilton the next morning. It is complimentary for guest. Living Well Gym Hilton Sydney in CBD also open to public.

After the cholesterol punched prawns try some duck rice vermicelli. They say duck fat is good for you.

Finally to cap of the evening nearing midnight. Fried rice with salted fish. This really loads up the calories. Good if you are planning a power walk to the Sydney Harbour Bridge from the hotel or city area. 30 mins to get to the nearest pylon and 20 minutes to the opposite pylon. About 100 minutes for a return walk based on google maps directions from Hilton Sydney.

Finally the walk back to bed at the Hilton Sydney.

For a good nights sleep. Check it out at  http://www.hiltonsydney.com.au/

Boticelli on Angelo Street South Perth

Light and easy Italian food! Sauces as ephemeral as fog and gentle on the stomach compared to more traditional Italian fare.

The restaurant was a buzz with patrons seeking the early Saturday dinner.

A little starter with anti pasta. Lentils, beans, Italian sausage and peppers. After the yoga session to increase flexibility. Why not?

Something crunchy with tomato and dressing. Bruschetta.

Another favourite with a light batter. Calamari or fried squid.

For a stomach filler or if you ran the 1/2 marathon instead of doing yoga. Try the spaghetti bolognaise.

Pasta with prawns and a creamy sauce. Great for teenagers who like seafood with crunchy prawns.

Spicy mussels with a light sauce.

Veal Schnitzel with a light sauce.

Veal with Mushroom sauce. By far the favourite protein for the evening.

Steak. Voila. Good after the weights workout.

Apple cake to finish of the meal.

A fruit flan to finish off the restaurant meal. Not at the restaurant but at home with feet up in the air and the television on.
