Marche Toronto

Food cooked in your presence. Fresh, fresh, fresh.... The cow mascot in front of the Marche restaurant.

Check out the site at Brookfield Place and the setting of the family friendly restaurant marche-brookfield-place-street-level.

Healthy Fast Food at Marche - the cow a symbol of freshness.

Some fruit smoothies to start the meal. Some tim sum in front to the smoothies.  This was a pleasant finding in a western restaurant in Toronto.
Tim Sum and a trio of fruit juices

For some protein and omega fatty acids try the salmon and some sausage.
Sausage and salmon
Vitamin C from the juices and fibre (if not removed) helps with absorbing the cholesterol from the meal.

Fruit drinks in a combination
Seafood in tomato sauce with mussels and chili. The heat was much needed for the cold winter day outside Marche.

Mussels
If you prefer heartwarming noodles in a clear soup try the noodles. Very little fat and plenty of vegetables just lightly blanched to keep in the vitamins.

Noodles
For something more substantial try the duck pancakes. Similar to a giant size Peking duck pancake without the crunchy skin. No matter the sweet slightly salty dark sauce in the pancake makes it a nice balance.
Oriental Pancakes with roast duck
For the body builders who need met have some steak and mash. Keep up the reps and try some bicep curls in the gym after. We are up to 10kg dumbbells. May not quite Arnie standard yet but it helps maintain muscle mass - especially if you are older than 50 years old.

Steak and mash
What a feast. And you can have as much as you like using the pay card system. This keeps track of your feasting and what if they added a calorie counter to the card. May make the restaurant more friendly for  health conscious patrons.

Marche Restaurant on Urbanspoon

Out into the cold wind on a cold late December afternoon of 2012 in Toronto, Ontario. A brisk 30 minute walk to get the circulation going and to avoid the stuporose sensation of a heavy lunch.

  1. Great post, sounds like a really interesting restaurant! I actually never knew that cows represented 'freshness'. Interesting fact. I guess that's potentially linked to dairy company marketing ;)

    1. Big dairy cows for friendliness and health? Try the franchise and add a calorie counter to the meals?
