Kool Spot - A day in Broome 18th Oct

Looking for lunch on a hot day in Broome try - Kool Spot

Up at crack of dawn - 430am to get to the Qantas Terminal at the domestic airport - 5 30 am for the 710am flight to Broome.

Enough time for a 30 minute power walk around the 3 domestic airport car parks before going into departure.

After a mornings work, pop into Broome town for a quick lunch before more work and the Qantas flight out in the evening.

Hot day at 33 degrees centigrade on the tarmac coming from the cooler south of the state

Try some cool but spicy korean salad. Lots of fibre for the bowels.

If you don't want a hot meal some savoury felafel pastry to fill up for the day's work. Add carbs for the run later on in the heat.

Try some fresh mackerel with lots of omega 3 fatty acids for the heart. A little to salty for the taste but good to replace the sodium lost during the hot steamy weather. Low sodium due to lost in sweating can make you feel fatigued in the tropical (relative to Perth this morning) heat.

My colleague Pen had the giant quiche. Lots of tomatoes for potassium and electrolyte replenishment.

For drinks I had a sweet soda. That was also a sugar fix. It tasted so good on a hot day mixed with ice.. Pen had tea in a pot to go with the quiche.

After work managed to get in a 30 minute jog before going to the Broome airport. Ran along the back streets of Broome. Along a bicycle path from the primary school to Jul's place. Then hopped on the Qantas flight back home at 6 50pm. Not a fantastic training session day but it maintained the cardio for 24 hours!!
